Encouraged by receiving a building from Favor to meet in as a church, the community in Jondoru, South Sudan came together to build a shelter extension for their Village Learning Center (VLC) to use.
Favor continues to partner with International Cooperating Ministries (ICM) to fund new church construction projects all across Uganda and South Sudan for communities whose church leadership is ready to embrace the call to be disciple-makers. And the children at Jondoru VLC are certainly eager disciples.
A team with two US visitors traveled to Jondoru VLC and got to witness the transformation happening in these young disciples' lives. Our US visitors especially were excited to see so many children benefiting and learning basic education through the project, sharing Bible verses and expressing themselves.
The VLCs we establish find and empower the best-educated adults in the area to begin equipping the children with the principles of the Word of God, as well as academic tools. These children are so hungry to learn, and there's no better opportunity for helping them succeed than to equip them while they're still young with an education founded in God's truth.
Each church building that gets built opens up numerous opportunities for the community. In another village, one church group is so eager to have these opportunities that the members have started to make their own bricks to have them ready for when our construction team arrives!
We praise Jesus for every "disciple-making factory" that gets raised!
