The harvest has been so plentiful this year. Over the past weeks, we have been celebrating the baptism of new converts from South Sudan, Republic of Congo and Central African Republic (CAR). Today we are celebrating yet another baptism - that of Ahmed, a former Muslim who accepted Christ and adopted a new name. The name Ahmed carries a meaning high praise, of which God is most certainly worthy. But the new name Ahmed chose for himself, Emmanuel ("God with us"), parallels his new acceptance and faith in Jesus as both God, man, and Messiah.
Emmanuel was baptized in Source Yubu, a village near the border of South Sudan. He accepted Christ through the fervent evangelism of our PBS teams that have been teaching in the Western Equatoria region.
