The Literacy Training Program in Rumbek, South Sudan has been a great success. All 20 trainees have learned to read the Bible and have demonstrated their ability by reading verses on the day of their graduation. The literacy program has made it possible for hundreds of people to be able to read the Bible in their native languages. After completing the training, the trainees were awarded certificates and copies of their own Bible. Literacy training is one of our strategies of making God's Word accessible to people in Africa.

Most of our Portable Bible Schools across 8 countries include literacy teachings, where it is needed. Development in some of these rural areas continues even after Portable Bible Schools finish. Those who are able to read are identified and trained to teach others. By identifying teachers and leaders in the communities and enabling them with resources, it ensures that training is ongoing. Putting God's Word into the hands of people is the best gift we could ever give!
